A trapper discovered Winnie and sold her to Lieutenant Harry Colebourn in White River, Ontario, Canada, on August 24, 1914, while Harry awaited a train which would take him to England to serve in World War I.Harry named Winnie after Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he lived prior to going to war.Winnie-the-Pooh, a overweight teddy bear, who is the popular storybook character first featured in stories by A.A. Milne and later in a series of Disney films and television series. He is first created by A.A. Milne and is generally affectionately referred to as simply Pooh or Pooh bear by his friends and fans.Pooh is known as a bear of very little brain, but is capable sometimes of surprising insights. Pooh's favorite food is honey by far and he will go to great lengths to find and eat it. He lives in a house in the Hundred Acre Wood, surrounded by his many friends.Pooh has appeared in various films bearing his name, some with him as the primary focus, others focusing more on his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood.To date, Winnie-the-Pooh has been featured in three TV series bearing his name: the traditionally animated The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, the banraku-puppetry The Book of Pooh and most recently the CGI-animated My Friends Tigger & Pooh, where he is part of a mystery-solving team known as the Super Sleuths with his friends Darby and Tigger.In the Kingdom Hearts games, Pooh becomes a friend to the main playable character, Sora. In the first game, Sora helps Pooh when his friends disappear from the Hundred Acre Wood by collecting Torn Page items. In the second game, Pooh loses all memory of Sora and his friends when the Heartless steal pages from the book. He refers to Sora as dear somebody or somebody-I-don't-know. As Sora collects more pages from the book, Pooh begins to remember his friends, but it takes more to help him remember Sora. In the end, Pooh searches for a way to keep Sora from having to leave. Sora indicates his heart, telling Pooh he'll always be right there. Show less «
