He has played all types of humanity in indie films, from an aggressive CEO (Whatever It Takes), a sad sack father/husband who goes postal (3-Iron), an avenging Western father (Contrition), a British serial rapist (MBFF, opposite Zazie Beetz), a witty doctor (Doctor Bello, opposite Isaiah Washington), an Horror mad scientist (Animosity), a consoling Priest (Confession), a jealous husband (Pillow Talk, nominated Best Actor at Brightside Festival), an historical post Civil War spineless racist (Slavery By Another Name, Sundance selection, PBS), music genius John Fahey (Two Trains Runnin', New York Film Festival selection). In theater he has acted in plays by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Miller, Williams and Rabe. The youngest of four brothers, Tom Martin was born and raised in Oakland, CA. He was an undergraduate English major at U.C. Berkeley when he first fell in love with acting. He received his M.F.A from the American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco and moved to New York City immediately after graduating A.C.T.
