John Chiara (kee AR uh) is a classically trained actor, writer, and poet graduating from Kent State University 2011 with a BA in Acting/Theatre, building a life in law enforcement and firefighting. His absolute dream is to make acting a living!Born in Cleveland, Ohio 1987 from humble beginnings, John has faced many adversities surrounded by drugs and violence at very young age. It was from hardships such as coming from a broken family and battling parent's addictions of alcoholism and drug abuse that made John very mature at a young age and molded his outlook of living a clean and healthy lifestyle. For most of his life John was an athlete starring in and lettering in his favorite sports of wrestling, track, and football. However, near the end of high-school, he decided to try something new, something completely unprecedented, an audition for a musical! A friend pulled him in to an audition for the musical "Once on this Island". John had no prior acting experience or notion of ever acting. However, after one audition of singing Frank Sinatra's "Nice and Easy" his acting career began! He would continue to act and dedicate his life to it. He fell in love with acting his junior year of high-school in 2005 with his first stage performance and landing his first lead role in "Meet Me in St Louis" as "Mr. Smith". It was after this success that he continued on in his path. In his senior year and following performance, he landed the lead in "Grease" as "Danny Zuko". After receiving high praise for his instant success as an actor, he decided to make acting his life.He went on to Edinboro University of PA, to get away from his hometown to start up small and grow steadily and skillfully. Under his advisor Ms. Wagner who opened his eyes to the theatre life, he went on to land the lead role in his first semester as a freshman as "Brom Bones" in Sleepy Hollow. The following summer he performed in Indiana's Red Barn Summer Stock Theatre landing two lead roles in the two performances he was part of as "Daniel Warren" in "Sin, Sex, and the CIA" and "Ely" in "The Spitfire Grille" under the guidance of Dir. Stephen Henderson. In the start of his sophomore year, he landed the lead role in the musical "Roar of the Greasepaint and the Smell of the Crowd" as "Sir".After his two years at Edinboro he decided he wanted to come back home and go to Kent State University where he grew further as an actor winning a leading role as a nameless character "National Guard Captain" in Dir. Cay Kosgriff's "Blanket Hill" based on the 1970, May 4th Shootings at Kent State. Under the tutelage of Professor Chuck Ritchie and Professor Rohn Thomas, he wanted to change his path of being a stage performer to acting for the camera. In the end of his senior year in his first film audition he landed the lead role in the paranormal, short-horror film "The Farm" as "Johnny Harper" By Ghost Walk Pro. Directed by Steve Olander. The film was a first for the company and a first film for John becoming a success winning the award, "best short-horror of the year 2012" by The Indie Gathering. Since then he has started modeling and is currently part of five films with supporting roles and part of the Cleveland's 48hour Film Festival of 2012 since his first film role of "The Farm".Outside of acting John loves to body build, power-lift and push his body to new limits. He likes to write and has two short stories he would like to make into a film or TV series. He is a poet and working on his first chap book called "Through Chiara's Dark and Wild". He wants to give back and take care of people, save and make a difference in other's lives.John wants to travel the world one day as an actor and perform everywhere. His dream is to make this his life, to take care of those who have supported him and to give back to the community. Show less «
