David Agranov was born in Riga, Latvia to Russian parents. The family moved to Italy and lived in Rome on Viale Regina Margherita. Eventually, they moved to the U.S., stopping briefly in New York City, before moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Shortly after, they moved to London for some time, before finally returning back to the United States, where he would do most of his growing up: in the Washington, D.C. area. He became a naturalized American citizen at age nine.Agranov is an actor, singer, and songwriter who works in Theatre, Film, Television, and Voiceover. (member: AEA, SAG, AFTRA, ASCAP.)He gave a tour de force performance as "Tommy Boy" in the West Coast Premiere of the long running hit stage play version of Trainspotting.He is the creator of the one man show, The Chet Baker Project, where he portrays the trumpeter/singer, and has performed this one act play in New York, Beverly Hills, and Rome.In 2006, he appeared as the ex-Yugo "DJ Pargo" in the film English as a Second Language.In 2007, he appeared in the film Crazy, playing "Bobby Moore", a musician who played with Elvis, Patsy Cline, Chet Atkins, and many more.In 2008, he played "Rodolpho" in A View from the Bridge at the Tony Award Winning Regional Theatre: Arena Stage, with Virginia Kull, Louis Cancelmi, and Delaney Williams.In 2009, he recurred as "Jim Ballard" on The Unit, produced by David Mamet for 20th Century Fox Television. He then went on to play "Ferdinand" in Tom Stoppard's Rock and Roll at the Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., a role based largely on Vaclav Havel.He was hired for several scenes opposite Angelina Jolie in SALT, directed by Phillip Noyce, released in 2010 by Columbia Pictures.In Spring of 2010, he released an album, the Sweet Regards EP, under the Artist's name: Divvy.
