Bart returned to Abilene after some years as an actor who had minor roles in television series and commercials. His mother had died and his father was sick and needed a caretaker. Bart was on the faculty at McMurry College as a Drama Professor from 1960 until 1965. He was a classically handsome man, the John Garfield type, with a rich baritone voice that got him a number of roles as a narrator.
